This is my first "posting" and I might add, the second time I am typing it. You see, my first one didn't save. Maybe because this computer sucks, but probably because of user error. Its 3 a.m. I'm tired. Should I sleep? Nay! I should blog!
Notice the title "License to Feel." It is of no significance. At All. None of my titles will ever be of any significance. I promise
I have a 2 year old nephew. For his 1st birthday his grandfather got him a 263 paged book titled The Dangerous Book for Boys. Lets do the math. 1 year old + 263 page book = "Hey gramps, thanks for the book. Can't wait to read it tonight before I go to sleep. Now will you change my dipe. I crapped on myself." Dude, who gets a novel for an infant? That's worse than giving out raisins for Halloween. Stay focused grandpa.
Then I opened the book. I have now stolen it and claimed it as my own. Or something like that. This was the best gift my nephew got for his birthday. It will probably be the best gift that he gets until he gets his first gun. The first page of the book has a quote that really struck a chord with me, and I want to share it with all my loyal readers.
It reads:
"Don't worry about genius and don't worry about not being clever. Trust rather to hard work, perseverance and determination. The best motto for a long march is ' Don't grumble. Plug on.'....Be honest. Be loyal. Be kind. Remember that the hardest thing to acquire is the faculty of being unselfish. As a quality it is one of the finest attributes of manliness." Sir Frederick Treves
The title of the book is The Dangerous Book for Boys. Don't be fooled by the title, this is a mans book for a mans man. I will pray that at an early age, my nephew will pick this book up and appreciate it as much as I do.
God bless you, and remember to vote Republican
